About

Since the independence movements of the 1950s and ’60s, the number of Africans living outside of Africa has continued to increase. As these people and their children integrate into societies around the world, they bring an explicitly African influence on these cultures. The easy flow of people and ideas across oceans has created a continuous cross-pollination between Africans in Africa and abroad, leading to a dynamic, richly-varied global African culture.

The goal of this site is to chronicle the impact of Africans on the world, mostly by highlighting people who are doing cool things. This site also aims to represent a generation of people who have come of age in the middle, both African and something else, whether it be American, European, Australian, etc.
